Getting the PIC line put in for the intravenous antibiotics

Dear friends,

Thanks so much for all you do. We truly believe that God hears and answers prayer and that you are making a difference in our lives and ministry. Thanks for praying for us.

I know that you hunger to see the world evangelized in our generation. I know that you have prayed and given to see your goal realized.

Here is a health update.

Since the surgery, tentatively, I have been cured of cancer. The pathology reports say that the margins were clear. My condition will be confirmed with scans every three months for a year or two. There is a 50% likelihood that my cancer will return. If this cancer returns, it usually does so in the first two years.

I spent 30 days on a no-fat diet after the surgery. The diet was to keep the lymph nodes from overproducing in the area of surgery and hindering healing. I will tell you that it was the worse diet I have ever tried to live with.

My kidney cancer took a very unusual turn and resulted in testicular cancer. I lost both my adrenal glands and a testicle.

Till the second opinion, I had no idea that the cancer had advanced like that. The doctors took part of my diaphragm and bone scrapings to be sure that I was clear and clean from the cancer.

As of today, I am praising the Lord for being cancer free for the first time in over 15 months.

I still have infections that will need another month or two to heal. I have to take steroids for the rest of my life to replace what the adrenal glands would be doing. I have what is called Addison’s disease.

Ministry Update

I have been worth little for the last month or so. I am finally trying to write a chapter in "Our Love Story" each day. You can follow those on Alignment Ministries.

This past week God has allowed me to preach three times. God has blessed me greatly.

I look forward to much more in the coming days.

Lord willing, God will allow me to preach overseas several times over the next year.

I know you love us and follow our ministry because of your hunger to see the world reached with the gospel in our generation. Please continue to pray that God will open doors and use us.

Now that things have settled down, I will be back on a schedule of once a month with the letter. If you know anyone that might be interested in getting our prayer letter, please let me know.

God bless you all

Gratitude, a sentiment often tucked away in the recesses of our hearts, possesses the transformative power to enrich not only our lives but also the lives of those around us.

In January of 1987 Betty, the kids, and I arrived in Querétaro, Mexico to study Spanish. I literally didn’t know ten words. I am forever indebted to Georgia, Hermana Luisa, Webb for the language institute she ran for many years. She was strict. She pushed hard. Betty cried on more than one occasion. Without the challenge I know that I never would have learned the language. The language school gave me structure, discipline, help learning what to do next. Read the rest of the letter then go watch this video the BBF did of Miss Webb. When you get this letter, Lord willing, Betty and I will be in Mexico and we will be visiting this wonderful godly lady. I thought of this lady often over the years. I remembered how hard she had been on me. I remembered being tortured it seemed but I survived Hermana Luisa and she made me a thriving missionary. Thank you Hermana Luisa for helping a red neck Tennessee hillbilly learn enough Spanish to do some ministry. God bless you. So know that language school might be very beneficial for you. Efficient Resource Utilization: Organized lesson plans and materials ensure learners make the most of their study time, covering essential language elements in a coherent manner. Clear Learning Objectives: Well-organized courses outline clear learning objectives, helping learners understand what to expect and what is expected of them. Resource Accessibility: Organized language schools provide learners with easy access to a variety of resources, including textbooks, multimedia materials, and language software.
